This experimental service is designed to protect citizens from incompetent, dishonest, criminal, and dangerous medical practitioners operating in California. This has been inspired, in part, by the Medical Board of California, which has become hopelessly corrupt and dysfunctional.

This site allows you to report any medical incident or treatment you have received from any doctor or health organization that has provided you with services. These reports can be about incidents involving serious injury or they can be simple reports about how you were disrespected and you think the greater community should know. As long as you have actually seen this doctor these reports can be written with whatever candor and language you choose, and unless you use overly obscene language, you will not be censured here.

This service allows for anonymous posting. There is no need to give us your name or any personally identifying information here. The registration will require you to select a username and of course, requires an email and that’s about it. There’s lots of information we want about the incident itself, and some demographic information but everything is optional.

This service also allows for public posting using your real name. Many people prefer that, so the registration form has a field for “full name”. Alternatively, -you could use your first name to be “semi-anonymous”. Be advised though: everything you post on this site is public. Once you’ve registered, you can edit or delete any forms you have made – it is under your full control. Should you decide you don’t want an account here, you can delete your entire account whenever you want.

MESSAGING. This account comes with a messaging system. We want people to be able to communicate. Say two people with a bad experience with the same doctor want to talk about what happened and “compare notes” if nothing else.

IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER. Incident Reports posted here are just that – posts made by someone on the internet. The site operator does not have the capacity or authority to investigate any of these so use your judgment as to their veracity. Even for “verified reports” (a capability we do not have), A single bad incident report on a doctor does not mean they are a bad doctor – depending on the seriousness. In theory, even multiple bad reports do not necessarily mean a bad doctor – they could just have a personality quirk that turns some people off. Still, as this site develops, seeing multiple bad incident reports for a single doctor should be a cause for attention.

The primary concern of the site operator is ensuring those reports are authentic – meaning they come from a real person reporting on their real experience – not spam and not one person with a grudge thinking it will help their case by posting multiple reports on a doctor under different names. Again, we don’t have to do this so should be thought of more like an “early warning system” – at least some data that the current system does not provide. This can also be thought of as a kind of “tip line” that the police use to detect crime. We think the Rat Dog Agency could be an important contributor to the mission of law enforcement agencies.

LIMITATIONS. This site is entirely text. We are not accepting pictures or graphic images and probably never will. It is more important to us that your report be presented in an organized format and made available to researchers and investigators, as well as the public. Plus we want this service to be as lean as possible in case it grows faster than expected.
